Message from the Chair

Welcome to the website of the Consumer & Commercial Law Section of the State
Bar of Texas. The Section strives to create a better understanding of consumer
and commercial law, and foster cooperation, among those attorneys engaged in its
practice. The Section also provides general information about consumer law to
attorneys and the general public.

Membership in the section is available to any member of the State Bar of Texas.
Membership confers valuable benefits including:

• An annual subscription to The Journal of Consumer & Commercial Law, the
  Section’s official publication, produced by the Center for Consumer Law at
  the University of Houston Law Center;

• The opportunity to join the section’s listserv at no additional cost, providing
  access to a network of some of the most experienced and knowledgeable
  consumer law attorneys in Texas; and

• Discounted attendance at selected CLE programs.
  

Everyone is a consumer; gaining familiarity with laws that affect every potential
client that walks through an attorney’s door is an invaluable asset. Whichever
side of the docket you practice on, and whether you do so in solo practice or with a
large firm, in metropolitan or rural Texas, we invite you to join the Section and
help improve the practice of consumer and commercial law in Texas.
